What to Get for the Twilight Fanatic Who Has Everything

My mom is really hard to buy for.

She goes to town about every single day so you can never find something she hasn't seen before.

She doesn't ever wait to buy things she really wants so that's a problem too.

I don't want to get her something she doesn't want or need because she has too much stuff already (like most of us). Because if this, it's really hard to surprise her with anything for fear she already has it or doesn't want it.

She loves Twilight so anything having to do with the movie or the main character would be ideal, but she has already bought it all. I kid you not. (I won't even go there, but if you want to read more about my mom's crazy obsession, you can read about it in the old posts in May. I think it's somewhere around the 14th.)

Anyway, some of us kids went in on a new garbage disposal and installation that my parents REALLY needed. Since that wouldn't be really fun for my mom, we also got her some movie tickets, which she asks for every year and then I dusted off my rusty PhotoShop skills and made her a Christmas card.

I hope I won't get arrested for any sort of copyright infringement.

(My mom said not to show it to my dad, but she didn't say anything about posting it on the blog. If you see her (because now you all know what she looks like), please be kind enough not to mention it. Thank you.)

That is so funny! I hope your mom opts not to become a vampire!

Hi Holly! We printed Katie's blog book through lulu.com. (Price wise we found it to be the best. Everyone I know who has used blurb.com has been very happy with their books, and it's probably easier than what we did, but it didn't have the format I was envisioning for Katie's book.) Steve's dad has used lulu previously, so we got some tips from him. We just copied and pasted her stuff into Word, used the settings lulu recommended, and arranged it how we wanted it there. The time consuming part is that you can't just copy and paste the pictures from your blog, they have to be re-imported or the quality will be terrible. Steve did find a cool bulk photo downloader that I can direct you to if you decide to go that route... you still have to put in the pictures again, but it pulls them all from your blog and puts them into a file so that you don't have to dig through your computer for every single one. We were pretty happy with the end result. There were some very faint white lines that printed on most of the pages (though not through the pictures, and only showed because we didn't have a white background), that we're going to email and ask them about. It doesn't really bother me, but it's not PERFECT. And there's one random page that was just thrown in from someone's medical journal... Kate's book isn't missing pages, it just has that random extra. It could probably be town out. :) Let me know if you have any other questions, or if you want to see some of the of the books we've had printed through lulu. :) Happy New Years!
